My name is Sam Mathieu and I am an 18 year old college student. I have LOVED food my entire life. When I was 7 years old I ate my first ever foot long sandwich at Subway. It was one of my proudest moments seeing as my dad could only eat a 6 inch sub. In my young and undeveloped mind this gave me some sort of unjustified power. I did something that my father could not. To the younger me, this meant I was a man. Granted I was still MUCH smaller than him, I could eat more than him. So it all balanced out I thought! Looking back at this time in my life I can't help but laugh at myself. I mean it was just a sandwich! But since then it's been "go big or go home" for me and my food! And that is why I will never turn down a BBQ Bacon Double Cheeseburger. It is hands down my favorite meal.
Despite the fact that I love food, especially big food, I am an extremely picky eater. This personal attribute was most definitely given to me by my mother. She is even pickier that I am so it makes sense that I would receive half of her pickiness at least! My personality accurately portrays my taste in food. As a person I am very happy and quite accepting of things, but, there are just those things in life that really grind my gears. Same as how there are foods that I just cannot tolerate! My least favorite meal is either Lasagna or anything that has to do with beans. Coffee beans are the only beans I can work with. Some of you may be wondering then why the sites name is "Mo' Beans Madness"... Well I guess I just liked the sound of it. On top of beans and lasagna, I just cannot eat onions, broccoli, and red sauce on spaghetti (the red sauce is the sole reason I hate lasagna).
The goal for this site is to make accurate and purposeful analysis of different types of food and the respective cultures of certain dishes and why said dish is important to its culture. Also, I will be delving into the relationship between food and politics and examining practical true examples of how this relationship comes about in the world.
